Revolution V2 is coming. A new chain, real proofs, and a verified identity stack. See what's changing

Glossary

The V2 Vocabulary.

Plain-English definitions for the terms used across Revolution V2.

Architecture

Nomen (name) tells the network what you're called.Sigillum (verified identity) proves who you are.Potestas (permissions) determines what you're permitted to do.Mandatum (delegated authority) defines the authority you delegate.Agens (agent) acts within it.

How identity works

Identity and agents

Nomen (name)
Your .revo name, issued by the Revolution Name Service. It tells the network what you're called and resolves to your accounts.
Sigillum (verified identity)
The verified identity bound to a Nomen (name). It proves who you are. Levels are L1 Basic, L2 Verified, L3 Enhanced and L3 Entity. RNS stores commitments, never personal data.
Potestas (permissions)
Determines what you're permitted to do. A Mandatum (delegated authority) never exceeds the Potestas (permissions) of the person who grants it.
Mandatum (delegated authority)
The authority you delegate to an agent: spend caps, allowed categories, an expiry and a kill switch. It is always revocable.
Agens (agent)
Acts within a Mandatum (delegated authority). It is a sub-identity of a verified parent, for example shopping.rob.revo. It has no authority of its own. Agents cannot create agents.
Facet
A single attribute, such as over 21, jurisdiction or accredited, proven in zero knowledge. The verifier learns the statement is true, never the value.
Revolution Name Service (RNS)
Issues .revo names and the verification behind them.

Network

ZKsync OS
The EVM-equivalent ZK Stack that V2 runs on. Standard Solidity and Ethereum tooling work.
Airbender
The prover. Every batch carries a real validity proof from Airbender.
Blobs
Transaction data is published to Ethereum in blobs, so anyone can reconstruct the chain from Ethereum alone.
Verifying node
A staked operator approved by governance. It runs an external node and co-signs batches: 2 of 3 signers on testnet, 3 of 5 on mainnet. Maximum 250 nodes.
Smart account
An ERC-4337 smart account (EntryPoint v0.8, ERC-7579 modules) with passkey sign-in and recovery without a seed phrase.
Cornerstone services
Identity, proofs, mandate anchoring, intent posting, escrow creation and staking claims. Free to the caller.
Cornerstone Paymaster
An ERC-4337 paymaster run by the network. It pays the gas for cornerstone services.
Cornerstone Budget
The share of staking emissions, 5% proposed, that funds the Cornerstone Paymaster.

Staking and commerce

Programmable staking
250M REVO emitted over about ten years to nodes, creators and fans. Fans stake to creator pools. Creators delegate to one node. Rewards accrue by time and are claimed free.
Creator fee
Set by a creator, from 0% to 100%.
Node fee
Set by a verifying node, from 20% to 50%.
ACommerce
Agent-to-agent commerce with verified identity, anchored mandates, escrow, programmable splits, x402 and AP2 support, and stake-bonded reputation. Specified in whitepaper V2, section 9.

Networks

Libertas (V1 network)
The V1 testnet. It is running today and will be replaced by V2 at migration.
Virtus (V2 testnet)
The short-lived V2 public testnet. It is not live yet. Mainnet follows.
